Midweek Message – 1/5/18

Friends in Faith,

Happy New Year! And, I pray you are staying warm. It was a rich Christmas at First Presbyterian – full of candle-light and joyful music. We were reminded that Jesus Christ is God’s perfect gift for an imperfect world, perfectly wrapped in the human body. Thanks to all who made it such a wonderful, holy time.

Last Sunday, we heard more about that gift that John invited us to behold: the Lamb of God who overcomes all the separation and agony we experience. We also commissioned Rose Quirk for her week of training to become a Stephen Minister to enhance the care we provide to our congregation and our community. Thanks to all who helped take down our Christmas decorations and clean up the sanctuary as we transition to the new calendar year.

This Sunday, January 7th, we’ll continue through the gospel of John, exploring Jesus’ question, “What are you looking for?” as well as his invitation to, “Come and see” in John 1:35-51. Hope to see you there!

Pastor Ben
