Friends in Faith,
Last Sunday, we lit the pink – gaudete – candle, and worship was truly a joy! The children – and their adult helpers – told the story of Christ’s birth beautifully. Stars sparkled in the sanctuary, and they invited the congregation to participate by coming forward to offer our stars – our prayers – to the Christ-child. The Hallelujah chorus from Handel’s Messiah wrapped up our worship with a powerful echo of praise!
This Sunday morning is December 24th, the final Sunday of Advent. At the same time, it is the beginning of our journey through the Gospel of John, and we will explore the power of the proclamation found in John 1:1-18: “the Word became flesh and lived among us.” After worship we’ll have a special Christmas Food & Fellowship time after worship: bring your favorite Xmas cookies to share, and be sure to label them for friends with food allergies. You’re invited to help as we prepare our hand-held candles (attaching the paper wax shields) for….
Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service Sunday at 8pm. We’ll celebrate the wonder and mystery of God born among us with a traditional Christmas Eve service full of music and candlelight. We’ll share communion as a part of our celebration, and you’re invited to linger with us after the service as we gather around the piano and sing our favorite Christmas carols. In Christ,
