Stand With Your Neighbors

We hope to see you at tomorrow’s One Beacon event: 6-9pm at Salem Tabernacle (7 Delevan Ave). It was originally planned in response to the anti-Semitic flyers that appeared on our church door.  After the shootings last Saturday – at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA and the Kroger supermarket in Jeffersontown, KY – the event has taken on a whole, new urgency.

We hope you’ll be there with us as we share a meal, hear inspiring music & speakers, and stand together in this painful time.  We are anticipating a large turnout, and space is limited, so we invite you to consider walking or carpooling if able.

The event will be livestreamed at the Salem Tabernacle page: (There will be a pause in the livestream for dinner approximately between 6:30-7:30pm.)

There will also be an overflow space at the Beacon Hebrew Alliance (331 Verplank).  This will be a more informal space for families to gather, as well as for people who can’t attend the whole event.

If you can’t attend or watch, we invite you to fast with us from sun-up until 6pm tomorrow.  This ancient biblical practice invites us to remember that we rely on God for all our basic needs.  And we especially rely on God as we face our own need for repentance in order to be a part of God’s healing in this world.
