Ever feel like you’re not… enough? Not good enough, experienced enough, smart enough, attractive enough, etc.?
You wouldn’t be the first to feel that way. Many folks in scripture – especially the prophets – didn’t think they were worthy of their calling, as we’ll hear in Jeremiah 1:4-10 during worship this Sunday. But, God not only sees us as we are, God sees us for what we can be. Case in point: the story of a woman who had been bent over – unable to stand for 18 years – in Luke 13:10-16. To others, she was someone to be avoided. To Jesus, she was a child of God. He wanted her to stand tall!
We’ll also get the chance to commission three Young Adult Volunteers as a part of our service. This year’s group of YAVs – Sarah Bleile, Nate Burt, and Davis Hoyt – have heard the call to spend a year of service in New Orleans. Join us as we give them a formal send-off for their service.
Wherever you find yourself headed in life, you’re invited to join us Sunday to grow taller together in faith.
Back to School Prayer – You’re invited to join us at Salem Tabernacle (7 Delavan Ave) next Thursday, 8/29 at 7:30pm for a time of prayer for students and teachers as they prepare to return to school. Pastor Ben will be joining Pastor Bill from Salem at the Lord’s Table.
