Sooner or later, we are all confronted with our limits. There’s only so much we can control. There’s only so much we can do to affect the change we’d like to see in our lives and the world. It can be jarring and painful to realize limitation.
It can also be a wonderful invitation to receive God’s unlimited love.
This Sunday, we’ll read Luke 6:17-26, which is a part of the “sermon on the plain” in the Gospel of Luke (with similar – but slightly different – content to the “sermon on the mount” in the Gospel of Matthew). We’ll see how Jesus levels with the people about how – in the midst of this limited world – God’s unlimited kindgom is being born.
Hope to see you Sunday!
